Since 1985 our company has specialized in the production and distribution of personal hygiene products for daily use. We specialize in your well-being, since it is our job to focus on specialist care for all types of skin, its hygiene and daily care. As a result, we have become market leaders in the care and hospital sectors where we have more than 70% of the market nationally. We have also increased and diversified our product lines to cover the pharmaceutical and mass consumption sectors.

We have a presence in more than 20 countries in all parts of the world that has given us a growth rate of between 15 – 20% annually leading to us continuously renewing our product development lines while extending our manufacturing facilities and processes with the support of the Regional Government.

We are the manufacturers of our own principle raw materials (the fibre and the bag that holds the sponges) and we also prepare and distribute other hygiene products, including bath gel, lotions, creams, colognes and especially, the manufacture of single use soap sponges, sponges with the gel already impregnated with particular skin care qualities that are easy to use and very hygienic. We currently manufacture more than a million personal hygiene sponges each day.

Our concern then is the care and hygiene of all types of skin as well as, through a process of constant innovation, being able to offer the finest products for your care and protection with solutions that are both effective and of the highest quality.

Our goal is that everyone should have the best care and health for their skin and so, we are committed to always being close to you through our overseas expansion and trade.

1980

José Antonio López Sánchez-Ocaña

researches a new system of hospital hygiene. His basic premises were: the creation of a more efficient method than the existing one, with a sponge to meet all needs that was easy to use and accessible.

1985

The first handmade sponges with the BEGOBAÑO label were manufactured in a 60 m2 unit and sold to the Granada Maternity Hospital.

1989

Jalsosa S.A is founded and the Begobaño soap sponge brand officially registered.

1994

Jalsosa moves to its first industrial plant with an initial area of 600 m2 but which has grown over the following years up to 2500 m2.

2009

Our first mass consumption product is created. For the first time, we developed a product suitable for a range of consumers, promoted so that anyone can obtain it.

2011

We begin our overseas expansion. We now have a presence in more than 25 countries, our business continuing to develop with the support of our distributors.

2014

Due to a lack of space to meet the volume of business, we moved to a new factory with an area of 6,328 m2. The transfer of business allowed us to introduce new machinery and infrastructure with major improvements to all parts of our supply chain. We also became an approved supplier to the Spanish armed Forces.

2018

Following years of research and improvements, we launched new personal care product lines, including baby care products.

2021

We continue to enjoy the results of our Research and Development, launching products specially designed for new areas: open air activities and sports, personal hygiene, incontinence and pets are just some of them. The ´Neosanit` brand is founded to focus on overseas markets.

Corporate

social

responsibility

For us, sustainability is not optional, it is a key corporate value and we make great efforts to contribute to sustainable development.

We are the sole producers of sponges that are 100% biodegradable, while our range of products can reduce daily water consumption in personal hygiene by more than 90%.

For many years we have been committed to reducing the amount of virgin plastic in our product portfolio, something that we achieve year after year with a clear aim: to become 100% plastic-free in the near future.

We are continuing to transition towards the circular economy, using more than 70% recycled plastic in our «no bio» products.

The Vicente Ferrer Foundation (FVF) is a development NGO that is committed to the process of transforming one of the poorest regions of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh and some of the worst off and excluded communities from the Indian caste system.

A humanist organisation founded on the philosophy of action, it is a mission to eradicate extreme poverty in India through the development of projects and the action necessary to meet the needs of the least well-off communities.

Through his form of acting and thinking, Vicente Ferrer was able to transmit his commitment to the eradication of inequalities and the mobilisation of awareness while at the same time involving people in their own process of change. His way of understanding development has given rise to an exemplary model within the framework of cooperation. A pioneer in the overall development of the country, the team from the organisation works from both Spain and from India.

Logotipo de Fundación Vicente Ferrer (FVF)

Since 2005 the ´Creando Puentes` association has been working to achieve the social integration of many people with disabilities who, wishing to find out about it, take part and collaborate, attend classes where they learn handicrafts, painting skills and behavioural standards, in addition to taking part in and attending poetry readings, ´chirigotas` during carnival and in the making of an impressive cross during the Festival of the Cross in the month of May. With the support of volunteers, they also participate in sporting activities

The ´Creando Puentes` group was formed in 2005 to bring together, people from the locality with physical, mental and sensory disabilities: as well as family members, while other people with disability awareness became involved right from the very beginning. Since then, in addition to defending the interests of the disabled – which should be those of everyone else – the public have been made more aware of disability with both care and finesse, but without making any unnecessary fuss. The aim has been to raise the profile of disability, while gaining a place in society for people who, for too long, have existed in the background when not excluded or forgotten about. The association, together with the population of the town, have done this in an exemplary manner which is a model to be followed by other groups with similar aims and who need to see a project that is exciting as well as encouraging and effective and that has produced tangible results.

Innovation

José Antonio López Sánchez-Ocaña came up with the single use, soap sponge in 1985, an idea that changed the care of patients, while providing health service staff and carers all over the country with better equipment. Since then, it is innovation that has become the hallmark of Jalsosa. More than 30 years later, Jalsosa is the market leader in the transformation of caring for people, developing new forms, formulas and usages that anticipate the future of hygiene.

The team

Jalsosa includes the finest professional staff in its multidisciplinary team, with in-depth knowledge of the hygiene sector. We are committed to permanent innovation that bring real solutions to new needs.
